Verified plumbers, bidding for your job
A dripping tap at midnight and a full bathroom refit are not the same job, but they start the same way. Describe it once, add your postcode, and Gas Safe registered plumbers in your area bid against each other while you watch.
What plumbers typically charge
Indicative UK ranges for a typical job, to help you sense check a quote. They are not a price from Mazdurr: the real number comes from trades bidding on your actual job.
| Job | Typical range | What moves the price |
|---|---|---|
| Fix a leaking or dripping tap | £70 to £120 | Usually under an hour, including a new washer or cartridge. |
| Replace a toilet | £150 to £300 | Labour only. A new unit adds roughly £120 to £400. |
| Fit a new radiator | £150 to £250 | More if pipework has to be moved or the system drained. |
| Clear a blocked drain | £90 to £200 | Rises if a camera survey or jetting is needed. |
| Replace a combi boiler | £1,800 to £3,200 | Includes the unit and a standard swap in the same position. |
| Full bathroom refit | £4,000 to £8,000 | Plumbing, tiling and fitting. Excludes the suite itself. |
Ranges reflect labour in most of the UK and exclude VAT where the trade is not registered. London and the South East usually sit at the top of each band. Materials are included only where stated.

Common questions
The things people ask before booking a plumber.
How much does a plumber cost per hour in the UK?
Most UK plumbers charge £40 to £80 an hour, with a call-out fee of £50 to £100 on top for the first hour. Emergency and out-of-hours rates are typically 1.5 to 2 times the standard rate. On Mazdurr you do not guess: plumbers bid a total price for your actual job, so you compare final numbers rather than hourly rates.
Do I need a Gas Safe registered plumber?
By law, anyone working on gas appliances, boilers or gas pipework in the UK must be on the Gas Safe Register. It is a criminal offence otherwise. Every plumber bidding on gas work through Mazdurr has had their registration number checked against the register.
How quickly can I get an emergency plumber?
Mark the job as an emergency when you post it and only plumbers who can attend that day will see it. Most emergency jobs receive their first bid within the hour. You still see the price before you commit.
Who pays if the plumber damages something?
Every plumber on Mazdurr carries public liability insurance of at least £1m, and we hold the certificate. Because payment is held by Stripe and released stage by stage, you also have leverage that you do not get when you pay cash up front.
